Todd Wilkinson is co-founder and chief executive office at Respectance where he is responsible for driving the vision and strategy and overseeing the operations of Respectance. Prior to Respectance, Todd was responsible for coordinating CRM programs in 15 European markets at Tiscali in Italy, and held the position of European Content Manager at 12Move. Additionally, Todd was editor of World Online International, a pioneering Internet Service Provider, where he was responsible for coordinating international content development and implementation. Todd holds a degree from McGill University, in Montreal, Canada and has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Rotterdam School of Management,
Erasmus University Graduate School of Business in the Netherlands.
Richard Derks is co-founder and chief marketing officer at Respectance where he oversees all strategy, marketing and sales for the company. Richard brings a wealth of experience to his role at Respectance, having served in marketing management positions for Ernst & Young, NL where he launched EY online, and KaZaA where he helped it become the world’s most downloaded software application. Richard also draws upon B2B marketing experience having led Sonera’s rollout of Dutch broadband and more than tripled the growth of Vergeer Kaas’ product exports to Benelux nations and France. Richard holds a degree from Lyceum Dominicus College Nijmegen, in the Netherlands, a degree in international marketing at the Amsterdam Business School and is a level 3 multimedia engineer from the College of Multimedia in Amsterdam.
I like the idea, but think the company is going to face an uphill battle with other social networks to acquire users. The site is well done, but as of now not differentiated enough with features that might compel people to use it over other sites. Also I would guess they will need to focus on keeping the content fresh so that it continues to attract visitors over a longer period of time.
