DIY Vertical search delivers a targeted qualified audience for advertisers that are closer to purchasing decisions than those using traditional search. Revenue is generated through standard advertising, sponsorships, and premium placements within search results.
While Google and Yahoo dominate horizontal search, and there are many listing services (CraigsList, etc) and portals (WeddingChannel.com), websites (PartyPop.com) and offline resources (Yellow Pages) that offer advice and vendor listings, there is no other current destination that consolidates search and non-biased listings. TheParty.Net saves people time, effort and since there all companies within a segment are listed, they will likely save money as they are provided more options.
