J. Thomas Malatesta Thirty plus years of problem solving experience complimented by solid business acumen and the skill sets to significantly enhance the bottom line. Multifaceted, highly motivated and driven senior marketing, operations and business development professional. Serial growth stage executive with effective leadership skills to implement process innovation techniques while overseeing business goals, protocols and functions. A win-win strategist, I am also an execution driven professional manager with strong analytical and problem solving skills to see the short-term goals and the long-term picture. For the past twenty years I hav focused on "Homeland Defense and Cyber Security" solution sets geared to innovative thinking when countering enemies who constantly change their attack methodologies. Because Internet related crime rates will continue to rise and because end users and enterprises lack sufficient awareness and education about the current on-line threat landscape it is clear that meaningful security requires effective and efficient operation of information, computer systems and enterprise networks. I am a strong advocate of technology and innovation in the fields of risk assessment, risk management and risk mitigation. My professional experience includes being on the Advisory and Portfolio Management Team at Monument Capital Group LLC, a Washington, D.C. based private investment and advisory firm that originates structures and is an equity investor in buyouts, strategic or control equity investments, equity private placements and growth capital financing predominantly within the Homeland Security and Defense sectors. I serve as CEO of FortressFone Technologies Company, an innovative mobile and wireless security technology company with paradigm solutions that address a large capital efficient market. Previous experience includes being COO and then CEO of Cybrinth, Inc., an IT Policy and cyber security firm with clients primarily in the financial services sector. Earlier I served with a boutique merchant banking group, BroadReach Management, L.L.C. and Incyte Capital Assets, L.L.C. where the focus was sourcing and screening private equity investments as a strategic counselor to both investing and business entities. Prior to that I served on assignment as Vice President New Markets and Vice President Product Development for Smith Corona Corporation, the venerable former typewriter maker attempting to battle back from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company had been a client of my strategic marketing and sales support consulting firm, Global Marketing Services, Inc., and was one of a number of crisis management efforts aimed at rebuilding market share. Preceding the founding of GMS, Inc., I served as President of JTM&CO, an award winning full service marketing and public relations firm serving both Fortune 100 corporations and middle market enterprises. My formative years were spent with Procter and Gamble, Fortune and Life Magazine. A former candidate for the U.S. Senate in the state of California, I altered my interests in the political field in the mid-80’s when I moved to assume responsibilities in the corporate world for achieving sales and profit goals and forging market leadership positions. I hold a B.Sc. from the University of Santa Clara.
