Steven Chan is an M.D.-M.B.A. candidate at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine and the University of California, Irvine Merage School of Business. His interests lie in health information technology; visual communication design; psychiatry and human behavior; and web, social, and video game applications to medicine. Steve designed visuals as part of the Tellme creative team at Microsoft, and engineered innovative voice-driven mobile software for clients such as AT&T, Verizon, and 4-1-1 services. Steve helped launch UC Irvine's first free primary care clinic in 2008 — the UC Irvine Outreach Clinics — and created the School of Medicine's student web portal — P=MD — with over 10,000 posts and 500 users. He promotes medical psychiatry at his school and on a state-wide level, compassion and humanism as co-president of the Gold Humanism Honor Society UC Irvine chapter, and advocates for equal mobility in his local community through the Transit Advocates of Orange County. Steve graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. honors in computer science and a B.A. molecular & cell biology.
