Sami is the Co-Founder and COO of Trulia. He co-founded Trulia in 2004 and with a rock star team of other Trulians, quickly built Trulia into a leading U.S. online real estate site with more than 7 Million monthly unique users and hundreds of thousands of professional real estate agent subscribers. Funded by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, Trulia is headquartered in San Francisco and is about 140 team members strong today.
Prior to Trulia Sami has worked at various business development positions at Microsoft, Nokia and McKinsey&Company. Sami started his career as a software developer in his native Finland, where he also worked in a nuclear power plant after receiving his Masters Degree in Physics. After experiencing the corporate world, Sami started his first software venture, Matchem, which helped European and Asian TV broadcasters develop interactive shows using cell phone carriers as a return channel. Matchem was acquired in 2002.
Sami received his Master's in Engineering Physics from Helsinki University of Technology and his MBA from Stanford University. Sami is also a competitive endurance sports athlete with three Hawaii Ironman triathlon finishes and was ranked as #2 triathlete in his age group in the U.S. in 2009.
