I don't have a choice. I couldn't do it any other way.

The most frustrating thing is interactions with the regular work world. Nobody else moves as fast as you move, and nobody seems to care as much about getting things right.
The rewarding thing is the joy of building something, and the independence that it brings.
It may just be my circle, and it may be the fact that I'm more of a bootstrapper, but I talk to a lot of people who make the mistake of thinking fund raising is the same thing as building a business. It's not. It's not even close.
I think it's better to assume you will never be funded. That means you have to start with something small and you have to spend your time building the business, trying to reaching product market fit. Build something that will succeed without funding.
1. Stop talking and start doing
2. It's going to wrong the first couple of times so don't get discouraged
3. Don't stop doing it until you succeed
I'm a multiple startup founder and prominent engineer in the .Net community.
I've worked in the online hiring and software as a service space for over 8 years. First as co-founder of JustTechJobs and later as co-founder of CareerSoft, I've seen the hiring problems experienced by hundreds of small businesses. Now I've put all those lessons learned into a single product, HireFlo.
I've also worked as a consultant for IBM, MediaOne Group, Qwest, Samsonite, and others. My specialty is helping teams bring legacy code under control, and rearchitecting solutions that will scale.
