Aspiring entrepreneur
Lisa DeCarlo spent over 20 years as an inspiring, innovative leader with a proven ability to build or change dynamic, complex businesses while gaining efficiencies, managing risk, and enhancing organizational performance in large corporations.
She left the corporate world in April of 2017 to start her own businesses, under the parent corporation, FTGC Inc. She is currently consulting while working on several business ideas.
Prior to April 2017, she spent 8.5 years at Wells Fargo. Most recently, she led platform, program office, developer portal and business development to build a newly created channel, Wells Fargo API Gateway. The Gateway enabled developers to access an external portal to incorporate Wells Fargo services into their own digital customer experiences through the use of Application Program Interfaces (APIs).
Before building the API Gateway, Lisa created the Wholesale Talent group for Wells Fargo. She led the overall strategic direction for talent management, development, mobility and diversity & inclusion for all Wholesale lines of business.
Prior to Wholesale Talent, Lisa was based in New York and was the Chief Operating Officer of Wells Fargo Government & Institutional Banking (GIB) where she drove day-to-day business management, focusing on strategic planning, business strategy, administration, process/policy, analytics, segment-wide communications, and internal and external partners and vendors relationships. She led the business through doubling in size during a merger and the financial crisis.
In addition to specific job responsibilities, Lisa led a variety of diversity & inclusion councils, women's programs and was previously the head of the Bay Area volunteer council at Wells Fargo.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2008, Lisa served for six years as the national business manager for the public finance group at Banc of America Securities. She also held business development, sales, consulting, mortgage-backed securitization and marketing roles with Fannie Mae, GE Capital Mortgage Corporation, First Union and NationsBank.
Lisa earned her B.S. in marketing from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., and has held Series 24, 53, 7 and 63 licenses. She is trained in Six Sigma.
Active in the community, Lisa serves on the board for Project Open Hand in San Francisco, on the leadership council for Young Women’s Leadership Network in New York, and the corporate engagement team for the Pachamama Alliance based in San Francisco. She is also on a for-profit advisory board, Defender Capital Advisors based in Charlotte, NC.
Lisa is an avid cyclist, hiker, runner, and skier and spends as much time as possible with her Australian Shepherd or traveling abroad.
