I am a(n):

Entrepreneur

If you're an entrepreneur or corporate innovator, why?

I want to change the world.

My favorite startups:

crocodoc, edmodo, getaround, airbnb, codecademy

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

Most frustrating: To hear that something can't be done
Most rewarding: To prove that impossible is nothing

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

To build a product that no one needs and at the same time without any idea how to create the need for it.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

To not know what you don't know. Any vision, no matter how disruptive it is, needs a roadmap with a realistic go to market strategy. The more disruptive the concept the more clever has to be the execution strategy.

Full bio

I am the CEO  and a Co-founder of Schoox. I have 15 years of executive management experience in the Software Sector. Prior to Schoox Inc. I joined OTS, a European startup company at it's first steps which developed administrative and financial software for the Public Sector. I served the company from a various number of managerial positions and as the COO of the company I helped building one of the strongest software companies in Greece.

My new startup schoox.com reflects actually my passion about education and knowledge giving me the opportunity to combine the best of two worlds, education and business. At schoox we want to disrupt the market of education and shape a new landscape by revolutionizing higher education and life-long learning.

Creativity and innovative thinking is part of my personality. Implementing new ideas and turn them into successful business by building and motivating strong and result-oriented teams is one of my strengths.

I was born and grew up in Germany, went then to Greece and from there to the US. I speak fluent Greek, German and English. I hold a PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering and an MBA.

I also advocate the belief that good is not good enough. A product has just to be perfect.
