I am a(n):

Entrepreneur

If you're an entrepreneur or corporate innovator, why?

I'm bursting with ideas!

My favorite startups:

Sharing Profiles, Qittle, Vator ;)

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

rewarding: executing on ideas / seeing them come to life is exhilarating.
frustrating: limited cash means I can't execute on all my ideas, more quickly.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

staying lean and mean / cash flow

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

- start a kudo file to easily reference your successs for the difficult days when you want to throw in the towel and need to be reminded why you started down this entrepreneurial path.
- tomorrow is a new day, so don't give up
- turn your computer off at least once every 3 months for an entire day to maintain sanity.

Full bio

A self-proclaimed “Idea Woman,” I love all things creative.

One of those creative endeavors includes brainstorming with friends or clients. I find it satisfying when passionate conversations turn into problems solved or options developed.

Writing is another passion that usually leads to learning something new. I'll do some research, whch in turn leads to putting that newfound knowledge into action by reving up my productivity engine.

I get a deep sense of fulfillment looking at, analyzing and making art.

I'll visit a museum which generates an idea for a marketing campaign. I'll paint a painting which gives my brain the uninterrupted space needed to formulate a new business strategy, a new product feature or a new article idea. I'll watch a theatre performance which reminds me to think outside the box.

In work, I pride myself on listening first, engaging second and then executing for success. I can succeed at most anything when I'm genuinely passionate about the subject. When passion is present, I’m like a dog with a bone: my tenacity kicks in, helping me to the finish line.

Owning and operating a self-funded, highly-interactive resort-based internet startup engages all my senses: seeing a vision from inception to reality, demonstrating good taste when it comes to user interface and design, touching a community in a way that serves and empowers, hearing subscriber feedback and pivoting accordingly, and smelling success that triggers dogged determination.

In my personal life, I have a loving family and am fortunate to count so many incredible and diverse people as genuine friends. Many are lifelong friends...most I’ve known for at least 20 years...and some new favorites are an absolute delight.

All are solid.

Finally, the one constant that appears in both my work and play: lots of laughs.
