Full bio

Firefighter/Paramedic for over 25 years in the Southern California area. Following 9/11, I developed a project that would unite firefighters around the world though the creation of a standard 9/11 Tribute Patch for the uniform. The project would also raise funds for the families of the lost firefighters.

The project began in December of 2001, in Pasadena, when 5 FDNY bike riders (Thank You Amercia Tour) finished their 3000 mile bike ride across Amercia and ended their ride in Pasadena, At the end-of-the-ride cermony, a large banner revelaing the new 9/11 Patch was unveiled to the riders and the project began. In the following months, after sending fliers out to nearly every fire department in the U.S., orders for the special patches came in at a rate of 25-50 per day for 6 months. At the 1 year Anniversary of 9/11, a donation check of $15,000 was sent to the FDNY.

In the years that followed, firefighters from other countries began ordering and wearing the 9/11 Patch on their uniforms. Deployed U.S. Military personnel also began ordering the patch and placing it on their military issues. The project had circumvented the globe and went on to involve the participation of 8000 organizations in 25 countries.

Today, the project offers four different 9/11 Tribute Patches and many other 9/11 Tribute themed decals. The project is the only FDNY endosed 9/11 realted project and funds benefit the NYC Bravest Scholarship Fund, Terry Farrell Fund and the Feal Good Foundation.

The 9/11 Patch Project is looking for assistance with funding and marketing. Strategic partnerships will also be considered.
