Content optimization platform announces rebranding to RAMP and upgraded product

EveryZing announced on Wednesday it has re-branded and is now called RAMP.  The Woburn, MA-based startup offers universal search and publishing solutions for dynamic Web publishers.

The re-branding was, "largely driven by the completion of our solution to a business-to-business SaaS provider to media companies.  Everyzing was an older consumer destination name and we didn't feel it was reflective of what we do now and what we're doing going forward.  RAMP has a nice set of meanings; ramp up your traffic, ramp up your sales, it's easier to remember," Tom Wilde, CEO of RAMP told us.

So RAMP is looking to focus on its major media customers these days, some of which include, Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Sports, CBS Radio, COX Radio, Reuters, NBC and others.  But at the same time, the company hopes the rebranding will help it enter new verticals, such as traditional enterprise-type customers, government and education, which Wilde believes are all good opportunities.

The company previously raised a total of $22 million in funding from Accel Partners, General Catalyst Partners, NBC's Peacock Equity and Fairhaven Capital, and is revenue generating at the moment.  With 30 employees, Wilde told us RAMP hopes to break even in 2010 and "the business continues to progress nicely."

Along with the name change, RAMP has also launched its new and improved content optimization platform which hopes to enable media companies to maximize the revenue potential of content trhough optimizing the discover and engagement of content across the Web and on their sites.  For detailed information the product, see the release.
