"Santa Clara police said they arrested Jing Hua Wu, a recently laid-off engineer, at 10:45 a.m. Saturday while he was standing on a sidewalk near El Camino Real and Grant Road in Mountain View. He was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on three counts of homicide.

Wu allegedly opened fire Friday shortly before 4 p.m. at SiPort, a small startup on Scott Boulevard where police said he had been terminated Friday morning. Police identified the victims as chief executive Sid Agrawal, 56, of Fremont; Brian Pugh, 47, of Los Altos, the company's vice president of operations; and Marilyn Lewis, 67, of San Jose, head of human resources.

Wu was a lead product test engineer at SiPort, a 4-year-old company that develops digital radio semiconductors. He was laid off from the company early Friday morning, then returned at 3 p.m. and requested a meeting with Agrawal, Pugh and Lewis to discuss his potential future employment. He gave no indication of his intentions until he pulled out a 9mm handgun and shot his three victims at 3:53 p.m., said Santa Clara Police Chief Steve Lodge.

After firing "multiple gunshots," police said, he quickly fled the building and got into his silver SUV without targeting or threatening any other employees. The victims were declared dead at the scene."
