In another dispatch from the Google Developers conference, we wanted to give you a look at some of the cooler gadgets being developed for the iGoogle desktop and other platforms.

I got a look at the Google Gmail widget, which is now available on iGoogle but will soon be coming to social networks that are built using OpenSocial.

Another project combines data from Google Maps with that of a range of gadgets, like a video player, and lets viewers track the progress of a race through the streets, for one example.

Lastly is new video pane from YouTube that will let bloggers and other publishers embed videos into their own players in a way that will give them more functionality and a greater ability to customize videos taken from the world's most popular video-sharing site.
