Journal raised $1.5M; JobUFO raised €2M; Flex raised $3.6M; Kogniz raised $4M; Hubb raised $6M

Journal: Journal, a machine learning and natural language processing-powered platform designed to search across all your web services and tools, today announced a $1.5 million seed round led by Social Capital. Since receiving the funding about a year ago, Journal has been able to launch a beta community of users. Read more

JobUFO: JobUFO is a SaaS solution which allows applicants to give a real first impression of themselves. It simplifies application process and optimizes communication between applicant and employer. JobUFO has raised €2 million in seed funding co-led by IBB and Hevella Capital. Read more

Flex: The Flex Company creates innovative products that are better for women's health and the environment. The Company is known for its differentiated period products, including its namesake FLEX menstrual disc, Softdisc®, and the FLEX Cup™. Flex has raised $3.6 million in funding, including from BOW Capital, Quest Venture Partners, Halogen Ventures and Y Combinator. Read more

Kogniz processes video in real-time to recognize people, objects and activities using next-generation facial and object recognition technologies. Kogniz raises $4M seed funding from investors with expertise in big data and machine learning technology. Read more

ConveyIQ: ConveyIQ is changing the way companies communicate and engage with top talents. Thei mission is to build the most innovative products possible that enable employers to create remarkable hiring experiences at scale. ConveyIQ has raised $5.5 million in funding led by SC Ventures, with participation from other investors that included 3TS Capital Partners and StarVest Partners. Read more

Their cloud-based software platform uses simple, automated workflows to streamline collecting, managing and marketing event content, as well as facilitating sales pipeline growth with meetings management and data analytics. Hubb  has raised a $6 million Series B funding round led by Five Elms Capital. Their products power and range of use-cases including deep learning, 3D graphics, data exploration, gaming, and enterprise VDI. Paperspace has raised $13 million in Series A funding led by Battery Ventures. Read more

Springbot: Springbot delivers data-driven marketing recommendations, marketing automation and analytics in one dynamic platform for SMB merchants. Springbot has raised $15 million in funding led by North Atlantic Capital. Read more

Thirty Madison: Thirty Madison is rebuilding the healthcare experience for the modern consumer. Thirty Madison has raised $15.25 million in Series A funding. Read more

Thread: Thread connects users to online stylists to help them find the clothes they love. Thread as raised $22 million in Series B funding, including from Balderton Capital, Beringea, Forward Partners, and H&M group’s investment arm H&M CO:LAB. Read more
