Everyone seems to understand that healthcare in the U.S. is broken. But why exactly is it broken, and how can a new generation of digital tools and tech companies help pave the way forward?

After his inspiring talk at Vator Splash Health, Wellness and Wearables yesterday, Robert Pearl, MD (executive director and CEO of The Permanente Medical Group and president and CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group) joined me for an interview to unpack this very question.

It's a question Dr. Pearl has had a lot of time to think about, and he's putting his knowledge to paper with a new book coming out in May called Mistreated: Why We Think We're Getting Good Health Care and Why We're Usually Wrong. Managing an organization of more than 9,000 physicians and 34,000 staff members to treat more than four million Americans, Dr. Pearl knows a thing or two about our healthcare system. Listen in:
