Seed Stage

Driving safety monitoring app ZenDrive raised $1.5 million in seed funding from First Round Capital, Max Levchin, Jerry Yang, Tim Ferriss, and others.

E-commerce platform ShopPad raised $500,000 in seed funding from Scott Rafer, Arik Keller,  Peter Horan, Allen Morgan, Walt Doyle and others.

Viral content tracking and social influence company trueAnthem, received $2.6 million in equity financing from CrunchFund, Core Ventures Group and private investors.

Local Motion, provider of car sharing and mobility management technologies, raised $6 million led by Andreessen Horowitz.

ThingLink, which offers interactive image solutions to publishers and brands, closed a $2 million financing round led by Inventure Oy. Participants included angels such as Terrapin Bale, John Maloney, Thom Beers, Dean Kehler, Eric Wahlforss, and TEKES.

Location based mobile audience targeting company Ubimo raised $2 million in seed funding led by Pitango Venture Capital, with participation  from Eyal Gura.

Web and iOS analytics company Heap raised $2 million from Y-Combinator, SV Angel, Redpoint, Sam Altman, Garry Tan, Alexis Ohanian, Harj Taggar, Ram Shriram, Pejman Nozad, Joshua Reeves, Salesforce, William Morris Endeavor, Netprice, and RTA Capital.

Mobile website add-on raised $1 million from thetime and a number of U.S./Israel-based angels.

Social gifting platform Gratafy raised $2.45 million in seed funding from angel investors, including Rudy Gadre.

TROVE Predictive Data Science, formerly GridGlo, a provider of data-powered predictive science, raised $1.1 million from  new strategic investors and CUBRC.

Sqwiggle, a web app that closes the communication gap between remote workers, closed a $1.1 million seed funding round from AngelList Syndicate.

 Cloud storage company Lockbox raised $2.5 million in seed funding from Natasha Mandie.

Travel marketplace Demeure secured $4 million in funding from new and existing shareholders by way of a rights offering. 

Customer retention platform Retention Science raised $750,000 from Forerunner Ventures.


Early Stage

FeeX, crowdsourcing financial intelligence company, raised $3 million in Series A funding from Blumberg Capital.

Speakaboos, a subscription based service for children’s interactive storybooks, disclosed its seed and Series A funding, which totaled $6.2 million. The funding came from [212]MEDIA. Advancit Capital, Kyowon Group, Gerald Hughes and Rick Segal.

Content recommendation engine raised an additional $5 million in a series A funding round led by Grotech Ventures with participation from Blumberg Capital, ff Venture Capital, and FundersClub.

GuideSpark, which helps deliver HR communications and training solutions, raised $5 million in funding from  Storm Ventures and IDG Ventures, 

Doggyloot, daily deals site for dogs and their owners, raised $2.5 million in a round led by Origin Ventures with participation from the Sandbox Advantage Fund.

VHX, a direct-to-fan distribution platform for premium video, raised a $3.2 million Series A financing round led by Union Square Ventures. Lerer Ventures, Lowercase Capital, Keith Calder, and Alexis Ohanian, William Morris Endeavor, John Maloney, and Gunderson Dittmer also participated.

Late Stage

Customer loyalty and marketing platform Belly raised a $12.1 million in Series B funding from Andresseen Horowitz, Lightbank, NEA, DAG Ventures, Cisco Systems and 7-Eleven.

Couchbase, a NoSQL database technology company, closed a $25 million Series D funding round led by Adams Street Partners and joined by Accel Partners, Mayfield Fund, North Bridge Venture Partners, and Ignition Partners.

Cloud security automation company HyTrust raised $18.5 million in Series C funding from Intel Capital, Fortinet, VMware and In-Q-Tel. Granite Ventures, Cisco, Trident Capital and Epic Ventures also participated.

Global media and advertising company Martini Media raised $14 million in a round led by Venrock, Granite Ventures, Reed Elsevier Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank.

Pure Storage, an enterprise storage array company, closed an oversubscribed $150 million Series E funding round led by T. Rowe Price, Tiger Global Management and other public market investors, with participation from Greylock Partners, Index Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Samsung Ventures and Sutter Hill Ventures.

Credorax, a proprietary payment platform, raised a $40 million growth equity investment from FTV Capital.
