Pleasanton based company intends to change the rules of the game for live events

NiceMeeting, a mobile audience engagement company based in Pleasanton, CA, has announced that it has raised $1 million in seed financing from RVC Seed fund, a top-tier Russian venture fund.

The company has spent two years in incubation with MERA Labs, and will use the new capital to further it's North American go-to-market strategy.

“The fundamental paradigm shift in the way people interact with information and with each other using their mobile devices will rapidly change the face of the meeting industry. The need for a new approach to engage audience members at live events became inevitable,” said Jim Dvorkin, CEO of NiceMeeting.

“We brought together a top-notch team of talents with years of expertise in mobile communication technologies and conference planning to come up with this innovative solution. NiceMeeting is what event planners have always dreamed about.”

Alexey Teleshev, Director of RVC Seed Fund, said, “We are very excited about our investment in NiceMeeting. Being the 10th largest industry in US, conferences and events have a huge economic impact and we see a great business opportunity by bringing this game changing mobile technology to the market.”

The company has recently demonstrated its products at conferences in San Francisco and Chicago.
