Though the $1 billion valuation round for Airbnb is a no-show, Airbnb clone Wimdu raised $90 million

Seed-stage

Everloop, a startup offering a protected online social platform for kids under 13, has raised $3.1 million in seed funding from several VC firms and angels.

Shopobot, a comparison shopping site that lets users track product prices, secured seed funding from Google Ventures and AOL Ventures.

 

Early-stage

AisleBuyer, provider of mobile self-checkout and mobile commerce solutions, raised $7.5 million in equity funding from its lead investor Old Willow Partners.

 

Bunchball, provider of online gamification solutions, closed $6.5 million in additional financing, led by Triangle Peak Partners.

Image sharing site Canvas, created by 4chan's Christopher Poole, raised a $3 million round from Union Square Ventures.

Pulse, a news reader for Android and iOS devices, raised $9 million in Series A financing from New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Greycroft Partners and Lerer Ventures. 

 

ReadyForZero raised a $4.5 million Series A from Polaris Venture Capital and Citi Ventures.

ROBLOX, a gaming site for kids, closed its second round of venture financing with $4 million in investment capital. The financing is comprised of existing investors, including ALTOS Ventures and First Round Capital.

Smarter Agent, provider of a real estate search app for mobile, raised $6 million in new funding.

Smarterer, a company that measures digital, social, and technical skills, raised $1.25 million in funding from True Ventures and Google Ventures, with participation from angels including Mark Gerson, Shikhar Ghosh, Scott Kurnit and more.

Cause-based shopping platform SocialVest raised over one million dollars in a Series A financing round led by Bluff Point Associates. The new round is added to a $500,000 round previously raised by the company.

SoundCloud, a social website for sharing sounds and songs, surpassed five million users. And it received a small investment from A-Grade too.

 

 

 

Streetline, a mobile app for parking, raised $15 million in an oversubscribed round of Series B funding co-led by Fontinalis Partners and RockPort Capital Partners, with help from existing investor Sutter Hill Ventures.

TellApart, an advertising platform that takes a unique pay-for-performance model, raised $13 million in Series B funding led by Bain Capital, bringing the company’s total raised to $17.75 million.

 

Late-stage

Social commerce company BeachMint raised $23.5 million in new funding led by Scale Venture Partners and Lightbank.

 Cotendo, provider of cloud-based acceleration technologies, completed a $17 million private funding round.

India-based online retailer Flipkart raised $20 million in a third round of funding from Tiger Global.

Lumosity, a site for brain teasers and memory exercises, closed its $32.5 million Series C round of funding led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from existing investors FirstMark Capital, Harrison Metal, and Norwest Venture Partners.

 

ShotSpotter, a developer of acoustic surveillance technology to locate gunshots and other explosions, closed a $10 million round of funding from existing investors City Light Capital, Claremont Creek Ventures, Labrador Ventures, Lauder Partners, Levensohn Venture Partners and others.

 Tintri, producer of VM-aware storage appliances, closed an $18 million Series C funding round led by the company's current investors, NEA and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Rocket Internet and Kinnevik have invested $90 million in Wimdu, an Airbnb clone.
