Kindle 3G coming to AT&T stores in March; Groupon is launching in China with help from Tencent

Customers will be able to purchase the Kindle 3G in AT&T stores nationwide starting Sunday, March 6.

 

Clickatell, provider of a mass texting service service, secured $12 million in a Series B round of venture funding led by Sequoia Capital and DAG Ventures.

 

DynamicOps, provider of private cloud automation software, closed $11 million in Series B funding led by Sierra Ventures with participation from Next World Capital.

 

The Social Network, the fast-talking David Fincher film about the genesis of Facebook, won three of the eight Oscars it was nominated for: adapted screenplay, best score and editing.

Social gaming startup Funium secured an angel investment of $1.2 million for its forthcoming Facebook game, Family Village. The investment was provided by Family Odyssey and FamilyLink.

 

Groupon is partnering with Chinese Internet giant Tencent Holdings to launch a group buying site in China.

 

Social advertising startup MyLkes raised a $5.6 million Series A financing round led by Khosla Ventures with participation from Lightspeed Partners and Metamorphic Ventures.

A full 18% of Internet users surveyed said they have gone online to connect with others who have experienced similar health issues, according to a Pew Research Center study.

Collaborative software platform Prospx raised an $8 million Series B funding round led by Adams Capital Management and with participation from HPI Real Estate Services and Investments (HPI).

ZIO Studios, a Latin America-based animation and gaming company, closed a $1.3 million Series A round from fund manager Promotora through its venture capital arm.
