Remote PC tech help company raises Series C to expand support team

iYogiiYogi, a remote computer tech support company for consumers and small businesses, has raised a $15 million Series C round of capital, led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Previous investors Canaan Partners, SAP Ventures (a division of SAP AG), and SVB India Capital Partners also joined the round. The Gurgaon, India-based company has raised almost $28 million since its founding.

A new round of investments makes a lot of sense for iYogi, which has seen incredible growth over the past couple years. Having seen both revenues and subscribers grow by 300% in the past two years, iYogi predicts that it will see another 300% growth in revenue over 2010. To account for the rising tide of subscribers, the company has doubled its number of employees to 1,200 and believes that over the next year, it will see its Global Tech Experts team grow to 3,000.

Today, with over 100,000 annual subscribers, iYogi handles thousands of incidents every day.

"With its global team of experts, advanced support services and intelligent knowledge platform, iYogi is well-positioned for significant expansion and differentiation in this category, and is partnering with top tier retailers, ISPs, OEMs and software vendors to broaden its footprint," said Mohanjit Jolly, Executive Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson India.

Unfortunately, iYogi does not yet provide tech support for Apple computers. We sought the company's word on this, to see if Mac support would be coming soon, but have not yet received reply. Since iYogi's tech support is powered by Microsoft Certified tech experts, support for Macs doesn't seem likely.

Nevertheless, expect the company's PC support to grow and improve over the next year: iYogi will use this latest spurt of capital to expand its team of Global Tech Experts.
