Nielsen study shows iPhone 3G most popular handset of the year

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I would have to say, at least half the people I know own iPhones.  I'm sure I'm not the only one with this mentality.

A new study released by Nielsen validates this perception as the the iPhone ranked as the number one mobile device in the U.S. with a 4.0% embedded base of all subscribers, from January-October of 2009.  Coming in at a tight number two was the BlackBerry 8300 Series with 3.7%.

At the same time, while people are using these smart-phones to access all sorts of mobile video, Nielsen also ranked the top 10 mobile video channels in the US for January - September 2009.  YouTube of course came in at number one, Fox Interactive Media at number two.
