Optimal, AppDynamics, Atlas and Extole among those that received funding

Seed-stage

Time management and collaboration platform Altas Powered closed a $700,000 preliminary funding round, which included investments by the Tech Coast Angel group, Maverick Angels, Pasadena Angels and others

Mobile ordering platform Order Mapper raised a $550,000 venture round led by Vegas Tech Fund.

 

Cloud-based enterprise service Distil.it raised $1.8 million in seed financing. The round was led by ff Venture Capital with participation from Correlation Ventures, Idea Fund Partners,CIT, Piedmont RIA, Cloud Power Fund, and TechStars. 

Modern Guild, an nline career coach for college and college-bound students, closed a $500,000 seed round from angel investors, including Alex Asseily, co-founder of Jawbone.


KnowRe, an online education company, received $1.4 million in seed funding from SoftBank Ventures Korea.

Early-stage

Cloud-based healthcare platform Syapse raised a $3 million Series A round of venture capital funding led by The Social+Capital Partnership.

 

BYOD company Cellrox raised a $4.7 million Series A round led by Runa Capital. Prior backers such as Previz Venture Partners and Columbia Technology Ventures also participated in the round.

 

Late-stage

Social media advertising and analytics platform Optimal raised $7 million in Series B funding from existing investors Neu Ventures, Stonnington Asset Allocation Fund, and WGI Group. New investors in the company included DoubleRock, The Social Internet Fund, Siemer Ventures, Signal Ventures, John Pappajohn, former GoDaddy CEO Warren Adelman , Social Starts, James Altucher and Silicon Valley Bank.

App performance management company AppDynamics raised a $50 million Series D growth financing round led by new investor Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), and also included AppDynamics' current investors Greylock Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Social advocacy platform Extole raised $7.6 million in funding from Shasta Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures and Trident Capital.

 

Cash payment platform PayNearMe announced a $10 million round of funding led by August Capital, with help from existing investors Khosla Ventures, Maveron, and True Ventures.

 

OLO, a digital commerce engine for restaurants, raised a $5 million Series B round of funding from PayPal and existing investors, David Frankel, RRE Ventures, and Core Capital Partners.

 

Real-time online advertising platform AppNexus announced that it raised $75 million in Series D funding led by Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV). Venrock and Tribeca Venture Partners also participated in the round.

Iconicfuture, a marketplace for digital and virtual goods in the online and mobile gaming sector, raised a €2.5 million ($3.3 million) series B round from German VC Creathor Venture.

 

Online education platform WizIQ raised $4 million in Series B funding led by Kaizen, an Indian education-focused private equity fund, along with German-based global media business Bertelsmann.

 

Prosper, a peer-to-peer financing platform to invest and borrow money, raised $20 million in a round led by Sequoia, with the company’s existing investors all participating. 


Radius, which provides sales and marketing intelligence for small businesses, raised $12.4 million in Series B funding from American Express with Comcast Ventures, Western Technology Investment and BlueRun Ventures participating.


Front Flip, a loyalty marketing company, raised $3.75 million in Series B financing led by Jon Darbyshire, executive chairman of the Archer Foundation. Peter Brown, the former chairman, CEO and president of AMC Entertainment, Gary Fish, founder, president and CEO of FishNet Security, and Lance Melber, founder of eSmartloan.com, also participated.

Ad analytics company Adometry raised an $8 million Series Dled by Shasta Ventures, with participation from Austin Ventures and Sierra Ventures.
