Freewire (formerly "YouChoose") has created a Distributed Social Network that connects people across multiple websites and social networks. We are using this technology to create and manage the OFFICIAL Fan Channels for professional athletes and celebrities. Several NFL players and television sports personalities are on the board.
Mike Dever, CEO (Chief Energy Officer): Founded spree.com in 1996, which, powered by its affiliate referral model, became the 7th most-trafficked ecommerce website by mid-1998. Left spree following VC funding in 1999 and founded Mind Drivers, a venture development company. Mind Drivers has launched and grown several successful businesses, including Internetseer, which was sold to Landmark Communications in July 2007; marine.com (ecommerce), and SailNet and SpeedWake, two top-ranked website communities.
Kane Bender, CMO: Has been a partner with Mike Dever and Gene McWilliams at Mind Drivers for eight years and has been a friend for decades. Brilliant brain-stormer who works in developing overall concept and branding. Specifically responsible for the development of marketing campaigns to extend the marketing reach of Freewire's celebrity clients. In prior life, he was the lead marketer/partner in a crystal design & manufacturing company, with clients such as ESPN and the White House. Kane serves as the head of Business Development and is responsible for building Freewire's relationships with professional athletes and celebrities.
Gene McWilliams, CFO: Has been a partner with Mike Dever and Kane Bender at Mind Drivers for eight years. Background in public accounting at Laventhol & Horwath and Parente Randolph. Then as CFO of Crothall Services Group where he helped grow and exit the company after raising capital for four acquisitions. As Chief Financial Officer Gene handles business structure, legal requirements and finance functions for Freewire.
Mary Beth Dostillio, Director of Communications: Sharpened her entrepreneurial skills as the Executive Director of LEARN, a non-profit organization helping low-income students struggling with their reading skills, and as board president of the 100 year old Rose Valley Chorus & Orchestra community theatre group. Mary Beth also spent fifteen years at The Franklin Mint working as a programmer and marketing data analyst. Freewire fans are passionate about the celebrities and teams they support. As Director of Communications Mary Beth supports this fan community and the celebrities they support.
