Coffee lover, project management extraordinaire, mother of two, wife of one, disco dancing fiend, texting queen, foreign French expat, entrepreneur at heart.
As CEO, Bridgette's vision and drive has led the Werkadoo team from a concept into a go-to-market product that rocks. Her primary responsibilities within the Werkadoo family are focused on strategic development, business development and general management, but she also can make one of the meanest espressos around, which makes her the fuel for our rocket ship, literally.
With accumulated education domestically and abroad, Bridgette's experience in business and project management has led her to founding three start-ups; with the most recent, The House of Talent Group, having seeded Werkadoo's concept. She also gained valuable business experience in the corporate world helping businesses utilize technology to improve efficiencies and reach goals. Some might say she's a techy, with a side of Trump.
In her times of leisure, Bridgette loves to take her son and daughter rock climbing, watch her son or husband score on the soccer field (yes, they both play!), or do a little shopping. Having married a Frenchie, you can catch her on the southern beaches of France a few weeks out of the year, indulging in one of her favorite dishes, fois gras! She hopes to one day be a philanthropist, fostering entrepreneurship in women in under-priviledged communities. For now, she's focused on helping folks find werk.
Travis Skweres, Co-Founder, Werkadoo
Excessive chocolate eater, eternal optimist, fitness fanatic, poker enthusiast, lover of music, Most Interesting Man in the World admirer, entrepreneur at heart.
After a chance meeting in Houston in early 2009, Travis and partner Bridgette Penel decided to start Werkadoo with the goal of linking quality people to project work. Travis wears many hats, but is primarily responsible for marketing and social media efforts at Werkadoo. You might call him the 'Jack of All Trades', or you might just call him 'Squares' if you know how to pronounce his last name, either way...
Travis received his bachelor's degree in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin, and firmly believes that Austin is the greatest city on the planet. A serial entrepreneur, Travis has worked for a total of six tech startups since the age of 19, co-founded two of his own, and also has experience in real estate, advertising sales, copywriting, and design to add to the mix.
In his spare time, Travis enjoys reading Wilbur Smith novels, talking politics to stir the pot, bursting out in spontaneous song to embarrass his colleagues, and brainstorming new ideas. He is working on learning Spanish utilizing Rosetta Stone, but the gosh darn program won't launch itself from his desktop. He has an affinity for Africa (in large part due to his favorite author), and hopes to visit the exotic continent one day soon.
Teddy Boxberger, Account Management, Werkadoo
Half man, half giant, community management specialist, world traveler, basketball coach, Spanish speaker, Latin American cultural aficionado.
Teddy has been with Werkadoo since the beginning, and started as the Community Manager in the Bay Area, promoting Werkadoo and forging relationships in the tech community. Ever the charmer and a great people person, Teddy currently manages Werkadoo's customer service and user experience initiatives. Give us a call, and Ted's the first guy you'll get a hold of.
Educated at The University of Texas at Austin, Teddy's past work has taken him across three continents where he gained extensive experience in international sales, consulting, and community organization. In addition to Werkadoo, he also holds a position as a moderator on various virtual worlds for Metaverse Mod Squad, where he makes sure little kids have fun online without cursing each other out.
For fun, Teddy coaches and plays basketball and is also a self-proclaimed foodie with a love for trying new dishes. Some of his current gastronomic obsessions include sea urchin soup, cabrito al horno and braised pork belly. Yummmm. Having lived in Uruguay, Chile and Argentina, Teddy speaks fluent Spanish, loves the southern cone of South America and hopes to get back there some day soon. His lovable dog is named Wally, but she also goes by Walter.
