Company description
Tellit is building a consumer-driven, consumer-managed data marketplace. The premise is simple: consumers should be in control of their data, should have a place where they can integrate their data and then decide who gets to see it (anonymously or otherwise) in exchange for value.
Consumers benefit by gleaning insights into their own behavior, having a central "diary" that aggregates their mined behavior across multiple channels, and by participating in a data marketplace in order to leverage their data - anonymously or otherwise.
Retailers will be able to create Tellit networks and invite their customers to have their behavior profiled (with user opt-in) in exchange for ongoing rewards.
Consumers will sign on to Tellit and Tellit will semantically data-mine their behavior on multiple levels:
- What they buy (across ALL merchants)
- Their demographics (as expressed on Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- What they read (via semantic analysis)
- What they write (via semantic analysis)
- Where they go (by semantically mining checkins on Foursquare, Facebook Places, etc.)
- Who they know (by mining social relationships)
Retailers benefit by having access to very rich but anonymized views of customer behavior (individual and aggregated) and optimizing offer yield, ad yield and inventory mixes by leveraging much richer customer data and analytics.
