Benjamin Maltby

gained his qualifying law degree in the United Kingdom, before being called to the Bar of England & Wales by the Inner Temple. He spent a number of years working as a lawyer at the Head Offices of an International Group P&I Club, in the City of London. His role was split between providing oral and written legal advice to ship owners and charterers, and instructing lawyers and other consultants in ports worldwide. This foundation was later built upon though some years spent working for a large local law firm in Cyprus, undertaking insurance, yachting and private wealth management matters.

Benjamin writes a bimonthly legal column for Boat International magazine. He also holds an International Certificate of Competence for yachts up to 24 metres LOA.

Captain Justin Newcomb

Justin holds a licence to command yachts of up to 3000 GT. He is a third generation yachting professional, and has a total of 19 years' seagoing experience behind him.

Justin is also a qualified ISM auditor, and in addition also supervised the construction and refit of a number of significant superyachts.

Fluent in Spanish and French, Justin also holds Spanish Merchant Navy as well as United Kingdom officer's qualifications. Justin is also a qualified and active aviator, and an experienced climber and mountaineer.
