Starbates is the platform where restaurants and customers connect. Everyday restaurants lose customers and they don’t know who it is, when it happened and most importantly, they have no way of reaching them once they are gone. Our mobile and web platform provide metrics and tools that make it easy for restaurants to engage their customers.

Starbates is a team of 5 full time staff.
Jean Chong, CEO/Co-Founder, a 2x entrepreneur, having previously co-founded Premier Food Safety, which is the leading provider of food safety training. She has extensive experience in sales, marketing, management, finance and administration. While running a successful company for the past 10 years, she decided to create Starbates out of personal experience as a consumer and as a business owner and because of her deep passion to help the restaurant industry.
Guillermo Gette, co-founder and CTO, has 7 years of programming and project management, including founding a company and working in large enterprise companies.
Other staff members include 2 additional engineers and a web designer.
Business model
We charge restaurants a monthly membership fee ranging between $50-150/month AND for each push notification campaign.
There are close to 1M restaurants in the US.
Competitive advantage
Jean Chong is a 2 time entrepreneur having previously co-founded a company in the same space as Starbates. Through an exclusive partnership with the company she previously co-founded, Starbates will have access to over 10,000 restaurants each year. This will be their main sales channel and will provide a huge head start without hiring a large sales force in a market where merchant acquisition costs are usually high.
