Testimonials

SocialSamba has created an immersive, interesting way for fans to become a part of their favorite stories from TV shows & movies. As someone who follows the social TV space closely, I think their platform is fun, dynamic and serves both entertainment brands and fans well. It fills a need in the marketplace, which is what all smart startups do.

SocialSamba is the Emmy-nominated platform for social storytelling - which means we enable amateur and professional storytellers to put their characters into social networks where fans can "friend" them and experience a story with them. We have 350k MAU, doubled in July. Check out this video to learn more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD5KE5r5EwQ

Company description

SocialSamba is the Emmy-nominated platform for social storytelling - which means we enable storytellers to put their characters into social networks where fans can "friend" them and experience a story with them. Imagine being able to friend James Bond, and over the course of a week to get posts and comments with images and videos as he includes you in his latest adventure to track down a terrorist, save the world and get the girl. You get to become a character in the story, with James and his MI5 buddies calling you by name and asking you which direction the story should go, like a choose-your-own-adventure. Check out our video for more.

We're the leader in this new breed of social storytelling, with more than half a million readers spending more than 25 million minutes engaged with our stories. We've created premium experiences with customers like Warner Bros, MTV and USA Network, the latter of which used SocialSamba's platform as the basis for their innovative #HashtagKiller experience for the TV show Psych (www.hashtagkiller.com), which is nominated for an Emmy award and won a Shorty Award.

But we're not just about enabling established brands to more effectively connect with their fans, we believe in the long tail of storytellers and transmedia producers - the amateurs. Our basic writing tools (SagaWrtier) are available for free, for anyone to create their own Saga story and publish it to their friends and colleagues via our website or Facebook.

SocialSamba was founded by CEO Aaron Williams and CTO Matthew Shilts, two serial entrepreneurs with technology in their veins, and stories running through their minds.
