Company description
Sci Chic uses fashion to engage young girls in STEM and show the fun and creativity in science. We create science and engineering inspired jewelry using both plastic and metal 3D printing, as well as science fashion subscription boxes for kids and adults. We are giving young girls a tangible connection to the science they learn about, a way to spark conversations about science with their friends and family, and exposure to women in STEM roles models from many areas of science. We are giving adults a way to show off their passion for science portray science as the creative and beautiful field that it is. Erin Winick founded Sci Chic in October 2015 while in school as a mechanical engineering major. She always loved science and fashion, and wanted to give people a way to engage with science in a fun new way. By using 3D printing as the manufacturing technique, not only are the pieces inspired by science, they are also created using a technology to which people can relate and engage with.
