Company description
RedShift Networks unleashes the power of Unified Communications Threat Management (UCTM) to protect cloud and enterprise environments where Unified Communications & Collaboration (UC&C) applications are running.
The UC&C market is poised to reach $30B billion by 2013, and with this increase in UC&C deployments comes a new set of threats: Voice over IP (VOIP) and Video over IP networks are under attack.
Redshift, the leader in UCTM, has created a unique proactive solution that detects these UC&C attacks before they occur.
UC is rapidly becoming an enabler of business process automation. By removing human latency from the process that raises the bar on security from simple “VoIP” security to UC threat mitigation to ensure the integrity of the processes.

UC & Collaboration attacks have been growing exponentially since the financial crisis last year:
- A Voice DOS attack, such as what occurred recently at NASA, can shut down each of the thousands of phones in a given enterprise.
- A Voice Phishing attack, such as what occurred recently at a bank in California, can result in millions of dollars in losses; 84,000 customers called into their banks’ 800 toll-free number and typed in their account number and PIN number only to be duped by a fake IVR/ACD system. Thieves stole of with millions of dollars.
- SPAM attacks over IP Telephony (SPIT) have been known to result in thousands of phones receiving an unwanted ‘advertisement’ calls.
- Eavesdropping – attackers can listen and change a private conversation between a broker and client, for example, distorting the financial advice from “sell” to “buy” without either party recognizing the irregularity. The results of this attack can be financial devastating.
Addressing this new issue of UC&C threat, Redshift’s family of UCTM appliances offers several key benefits:
- Protect IP-PBX and other UC servers against a plethora of attacks
- Provide complete visibility and control to all communications traffic
- Protect against Voice & Video Denial of Service (VDOS/VDDOS) Attacks
- Protect against UC & C Network Scanning and Endpoint discovery
- Ensure safe and RFC compliant SIP/H323/SCCP Protocol Implementation
- Track and detect misbehaved endpoints
- Enforce proper authentication and authorization policies
- Hides Internal UC & C network and topology
- Enforce encryption (SIP/TLS/SRTP)
- Protect against voice and Video SPAM
- Protect against fuzzing and anomaly based attacks
- Protect against war-dialing attacks
- Prevent illegitimate signal interception, tampering or eavesdropping (MITM)
- Toll fraud
- Protect against UC & C application threats
- Protect against data threats and software vulnerabilities
