Team
David Friend (Chairman, CEO, Co-founder):
David Friend has been a successful technology entrepreneur for over 25 years. He previously co-founded five companies: Sonexis, FaxNet, Pilot Software, Computer Pictures Corporation and ARP Instruments. He has been featured in USA Today, Tech Capital, The Boston Globe, Mass HiTech, Fortune, Forbes and Tom Peter's best-selling management book, The Pursuit of Wow!
David has been a lecturer at MIT's Sloan School of Management and is an active supporter of music and the arts in Boston. He is a trustee (emeritus) of the New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, and the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.
David holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Yale University and attended the Princeton University Graduate School of Engineering where he was a David Sarnoff Fellow. He is an avid marathoner, distance cyclist, windsurfer, and hiker.

Keith Cooper (President, COO):
Keith W. Cooper is an experienced internet telecommunications entrepreneur, who has been a Venture Partner at VIMAC Ventures since 2002. Keith also served as President and CEO of FaxNet Corporation, which was named the #1 private telecom company in Upside Magazine's rankings of the "100 Hottest Companies" in 1999.
Before starting FaxNet, Keith was the General Manager of Trans National Communications, and spent 4 years as a Case Leader and strategic analyst at the Boston Consulting Group. Before his move to BCG, he spent 3 years as a Vice President at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
Keith is a graduate of Harvard Business School and Harvard College, where he graduated with honors and was the President of the Harvard Rugby Club. He lives outside of Boston with his two sons. He coaches baseball, is a Boy Scout leader, and enjoys golf, tennis, sailing, and global adventure travel.

Jeff Flowers (CTO, Co-founder):
Jeff Flowers is a seasoned technology executive with deep IT and technical expertise. Jeff has worked with David Friend (CEO) since 1982 and co-founded Sonexis, FaxNet, Pilot Software and Computer Pictures. Jeff served as CTO of each of these companies.
In addition to the four companies he co-founded with Friend, Jeff served as VP of Development at ON Technology Corporation, a software vendor that provided groupware and utility products for Apple and Novell Netware operating environments. During Jeff's tenure, ON Technology completed its IPO.
Jeff holds a B.S. and M.S. in Information and Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and attended the Northeastern University School of Business.

Andrew Keenan (CFO, VP, Finance):
Andrew has 24 years of experience providing financial expertise to groups of technology, manufacturing, and service organizations. Before joining Carbonite, Andrew served as SVP of Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Vovici Corporation. Vovici was formed by the acquisition of two enterprise software companies by a private equity firm. Before Vovici, Andrew was CFO of Silver Oak Solutions in Boston where he was instrumental in the sale of the company to CGI.
Andrew served as Corporate Controller at Synchronicity, Inc., where he managed worldwide accounting functions, raised two rounds of equity and grew revenue by more than 200%. Prior to that, Andrew was Corporate Controller at Provant, Inc. He also held senior financial positions at SystemSoft Corporation and Cadre Technologies. He started his career working as a CPA for 5 years with Deloitte & Touche.
Andrew holds a B.S. in Accountancy from Bentley College.

Floyd Bradley (EVP, International):
After six years of strategy consultancy at The Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company, Floyd Bradley spent over twenty-five years in senior management and executive positions in the software and computer services industries, including Cullinet Software (Marketing Director, Europe), Lotus Development (Managing Director, UK), Ashton-Tate (SVP, International), First Consulting Group (Group Vice President, Europe) and SDL International (EVP Sales & Marketing).
Floyd has raised seed money and venture capital for numerous start-up companies and helped lead several of these to public flotations on NASDAQ and the London Stock Exchange. He was a co-founder of SDL, the world's largest translation software company (and second-largest localization services organization).
Floyd has a BA in Economics from Yale and an MBA from Harvard. Outside of Carbonite, he holds the positions of Chairman of Talisma Corp and Regional Chair, Europe  Americans Abroad for Mitt (Romney for President Inc).

Bill Cunningham (EVP, Business Development):
Bill Cunningham is responsible for all revenue channels. He brings 18 years of sales and sales management experience to the company. Prior to joining Carbonite, he held several senior positions at Riverdeep Interactive, the last being Vice President of Consumer Sales.
Prior to Riverdeep, Bill worked at Suplicity, a start-up focused on maximizing supply-chain ROI. He started in the computer software industry in 1988 with SoftKey, where he held the positions of Product Manager, National Sales Manager, Regional Vice President and Vice President of Sales. Upon SoftKey's acquisition of The Learning Company in 1996, Bill continued as Vice President of Sales until The Learning Company was acquired by Mattel in 2000.
Bill brings significant consumer product sales experience to the Carbonite team stemming from his has track record of placing consumer software products into the retail, licensing and OEM channels. He has successfully launched and supported such popular brands as The Print Shop, Mavis Beacon, and Calendar Creator.

Jeffrey Robison (VP, Customer Support):
Jeffrey Robison has been senior executive at on-line consumer services and financial services & insurance companies for over 20 years. His most recent experience includes being President & COO of Sports Loyalty Systems, a company that provided loyalty programs to Major League Baseball teams, and VP for Customer Service & Operations at Upromise where he was responsible for customer service and brokerage processing activities.
Jeff has also held senior positions in customer service, operations and marketing at CIGNA Healthcare, NatWest Bank (Acquired by Bank of America) and Citibank. Jeff holds a Bachelors degree in BioMedical Engineering from Boston University.

Swami Kumaresan (VP, Marketing):
Swami is responsible for marketing and product management at Carbonite. Swami joined Carbonite as its fifth employee in October 2005, but had worked with the Company as a consultant since March 2005.
Prior to Carbonite, Swami was a consultant at Fletcher Spaght, Inc. (FSI), a Boston-based market research and strategy consulting firm, where he advised technology startups on sales and marketing strategy and also served as an Associate at FSI's venture arm, Fletcher Spaght Ventures. Prior to FSI, Swami was a financial analyst at technology M&A advisor Broadview-Jeffries & Co. As a member of Broadview's semiconductor practice, Swami helped close five transactions including NVIDIA's acquisition of MediaQ.
Swami holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from Yale University and serves on the Board of the Yale Club of Boston.
