Company description
Every year, inventors spend billions of dollars on intellectual property (IP) legal needs, from patents and trademarks to copyrights. Many small businesses and individuals put off protecting their innovations because of the inconvenience and high costs. Since IP is the currency of the twenty-first century, we knew there had to be an easier, more affordable way to take care of IP needs for businesses and inventors.
From the beginning, our mission was to set new standards for quality and cost-effectiveness in an industry not typically known for being affordable. We believe it should be easy for anyone to create a provisional patent application that is comprehensive and inclusive enough for a subsequent utility patent conversion, s, trademark a name, or take care of copyright matters. For us, the goal is not simply to provide a low cost alternative—it’s to make sure everyone gets high quality IP protection.
We envisioned a collaborative relationship between inventors and IP professionals to achieve our goal. We brought together some of the best minds in the legal and technological fields to create an easy-to-use suite of semantic-web software, back by a network of licensed IP lawyers and IP specialists, who can help people create, manage and monetize their own inventions. The result is the birth of PowerPatent, the nation’s leading IP provider for entrepreneurs and inventors.
For us, putting the patent system within reach of millions of inventors is more than just a novel idea—it’s the driving principle.
