Every year Minnesota Business celebrates the excellence of the companies and people that make up Minnesota’s world-renowned health care industry. MyFormulary is an online healthcare resource for consumers to discover and purchase foods with clinically demonstrated efficacy for treating their specific healthcare concerns or aide in achieving specific wellness goals. Our proprietary Efficacy Engine utilizes clinical research results to evaluate ingredients and grade each ingredient in the product for achieving the consumer’s specific needs while also filtering for dietary restrictions and contraindications, creating a highly personalized experience. The shopping experience provides full transparency to the consumer for all of the evaluated ingredients and their “grade” as well as links to monographs on their health conditions and the efficacious ingredients so that they can be more fully informed about factors influencing the achievement of their goals. The concept is being extended to include recipe evaluation for menu planning and shopping for fresh foods and, ultimately, prepared meal delivery, designed to meet the consumer’s needs. Future capabilities will include a virtual healthcare practice and diagnostic suite where consumers can gain access to nutritionists and healthcare professionals educated in the field of integrative medicine so that they can learn the full benefits of Functional Medicine for disease prevention, rather than rely upon the current symptom treatment model of the US healthcare system
