About
Company description

In July 2004, a team of Netscape veterans founded The Multiverse Network, Inc., a company aiming to become the world’s leading network of Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) and 3D virtual worlds. Multiverse has pioneered a new technology platform designed to change the economics of virtual world development by providing independent game developers with the resources they need to enter and compete in the $2 billion online game market.

When Multiverse's team of world-class engineering and business professionals worked at Netscape in the very early days, they helped architect the Internet-based platforms now used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Other ground-breaking companies they have made significant contributions to include Borland, Silicon Graphics, Excite, and Netflix. The full Multiverse team also includes video game industry veterans.

Team

Bill Turpin (CEO):
Over the course of Bill's 25 years in the commercial software business, he has identified and led the market in significant technology shifts, including both Windows and the Internet. He built world-class technology platforms his entire career, at respected companies like Netscape and Borland.
In 1994, Bill co-founded a startup to create development tools for the Internet. In a period when almost all of the Web was static pages, his company pioneered the use of dynamically created web pages using a scripting language, database queries, and a WYSIWYG HTML editor. Bill's company was acquired by Netscape Communications in early 1995. His company's scripting language went on to become JavaScript, and its HTML editor became the web-page creator built into Navigator and now known as Composer. Bill went on to became VP of Development for Netscape's entire line of server products. Later, Bill became vice president of development and operations for Netscape's growing portal business at netscape.com. He led the development of many innovative new services for one of the busiest Internet sites at the time.
