Company description
a new media site that allows local music artist, film makers, journalists, and podcasters to submit their content and have the general public to see and hear their work. much like iternet radio/local version of you tube/local podcast directory, webset up in the fashion of Craigslist The Mission is to give local folks to get mass exposure that many would never get the chance with local Terristrial radio and tv
Team
As the founder of Local Squawk I had previous experience in web based media. In 2005 I founded Radio Free Biker the first known motorcycle podcast. Which was a weekly hour long magazine show about the motorcycle community. For the longest time even after going into hiadias Radio Free Biker was still listed as the number one motorcycle podcast on many directories. The concept of Local Squawk came out of Radio Free Biker when I wanted to expand the RFB site with music and other podcast.
Business model
A new media site that allows local music artist, film makers, journalists, and podcasters to submit their content and have the general public to see and hear their work. much like iternet radio/local version of you tube/local podcast directory, webset up in the fashion of Craigslist The Mission is to give local folks to get mass exposure that many would never get the chance with local Terristrial radio and tv
Competitive advantage
Unlike sites like myspace where particpants rely mostly on an online version of word of mouth Local Squawk will give the opportunity to have their content broadcasted online much like a radio or tv station. Speaking of unlike the terrestrial radio industry which is mostly controlled by what I call the Clear Channel cartel whose listeners only hear music from major labels Local Squawk allows listeners to hear local music that they may not always got to know about unless as I said they found out through word of mouth.
