Jacaranda is the Australia/New Zealand distributor in
the Asia Pacific region for Saturn (from Cerrus Ltd UK), one of the most widely
used Social Health software applications in Europe with over 2,000 clients and
35,000 users. The Australia/New Zealand Market is currently under serviced by a
handful of small to medium sized companies, most of whom lack a comprehensive
enterprise platform. There are a small number of multi-national companies, most of whom offer
an end to end platform for all health care enterprises.
The market has identified a need to automate their
processes by increasing the use of IT, however the current perception is the
cost is too high and there is a lack of suitable applications available. The need for IT is highlighted by the
increased complexity of regulatory compliance and the focus on improving
measurable outcomes for older citizens with particular emphasis on the areas of
quality of service, quality of care and medication safety.
Healthcare
remains a unique industry for investment and opportunity. Very few industries
are shielded from economic conditions, world events and societal trends to the
extent of healthcare. However, healthcare is influenced by technology, politics
and an increasing population with more sophisticated health requirements.
Jacaranda Healthcare is ideally positioned to capitalise on some of the
emerging trends in healthcare both in Australia and in the greater Asia-Pacific
region.Specifically, the Residential
Aged Care and the Community Health markets represent a significant opportunity
for Jacaranda Healthcare. The primary focus will be Australia and New Zealand
to establish a viable business and client base with expansion into Asia when
appropriate.
