With a business degree from University of Washington, followed by 24 years of high tech sales and management experience in large and small companies, including NCSS, Dun & Bradstreet Computing, Comshare, Carlyle Systems, and GEAC, Colleen came to the Recruiting industry in 1990 on a soapbox of Change. Having been a hiring manager for years, and being unimpressed with headhunters in general, she made a point to meet with every client company she dealt with. What she found in that down market of the early 90s was a typical Catch 22—clients who needed to ramp up couldn’t afford to. They needed to spend their seed or Series A funding on salaries, not headhunter fees. So she dug back to the "solution selling" training of her background and created the Onsite Recruiting War Room model that took off immediately, and has earned Devon James Associates a steady stream of referrals since she founded the firm in 1992.
Being onsite with hiring managers for 18 years spawned the idea for InterviewStudio -- and technology was almost ready for Colleen's idea when she began penciling the system on napkins 3 years ago. In the latter half of the 2000s, Video technology and corporate IT rules had both advanced to the point where hiring managers could now utilize the full power of a tool like InterviewStudio to perform the time-critical, full due diligence screening cycle on candidates. After using it herself in her recruiting practice for a year, Aylward rolled out InterviewStudio.com for alpha use in 2007 and never looked back.

SaaS model, subscription based service. Employers and Recruiting Firms sign up for monthly or annual accounts of (varying showcase volumes) and distribute their passcode to job candidates of their choice. These job candidates go to InterviewStudio.com to create a Total Candidate Profile or "showcase" including a video interview with that Employer's passcode. When completed by candidate, the showcase is automatically submitted back to that Employer or Recruiting Firm which has exclusive rights to view those candidate showcases.
Additionally, job candidates can go directly to www.InterviewStudio.com to create a Showcase, and pay $49 online to send this Total Candidate Profile to any Employer or Recruiter of their choice as an URL link.
Showcase viewing by account holders and guests is captured and tracked.
Go-To-Market Strategy: Direct Phone selling to recruiting firms, who are indirect marketing channels to Employers, as they present their candidates in the InterviewStudio "Total Candidate Profile" format. Online sales to job candidates through ecommerce portal, who build their online showcases and email them as an URL link to any Recruiting Firm and/or Employer. Additionally we have a strong SEO program in place which places us consistently on Page #1 of Google for over 10 of the top industry niche keywords and phrases.
