 Darren K. Johnston, Founder and Principal

Darren Johnston is a seasoned executive with a track record for birthing technology firms in the communications and infrastructure sectors. He has raised a combined total in excess of a billion dollars from both the equity and bond markets as a key executive in his previous postings, including most recently as Chief Strategy and Development Officer for Silicon Valley standout UltraDNS. From positions of full P&L responsibility, he was responsible for the creation of revenue streams in excess of $100 million and is a seasoned M&A veteran with the purchase and integration of more than ten companies to his credit.

Prior to UltraDNS, Darren was a founder and Executive Vice President of Sales and Corporate Development for Dobson Communications (DCEL) subsidiary Logix Communications. Darren was an early entrant and key leader in telecom firms US LEC, Intermedia Communications, and WorldCom.

Mario Martinez, CEO and Managing Director

Mario Martinez has executive management experience across the technology, telecommunications, and investment banking industries, including positions in Fortune 100 companies through his current position as Managing Director of Intellectual Capital Associates in Beverly Hills, CA. Mr. Martinez also serves as Senior Advisor to Ion Partners, an investment banking firm in New York.

Mr. Martinez' focus includes the convergence and distribution of media, entertainment and content across IP Networking, Wireless and Wireline broadband services, and Software technology platforms. His area of concentration includes consumer and enterprise services, wireless SMS/MMS, SIP-based services, VoIP, Broadband, DSL, FTTH, Wi-Fi, SVOD, PVR and ipTV. Mario started his career in the telecommunications industry after divestiture with a start-up that became Sprint where he held national account sales responsibilities including Director of Business Development. Afterwards, Mario became Vice President of Direct Sales for wireless messaging SkyTel (MCI), and Managing Director for Computer Sciences Corporation.

Prior to his investment banking experience, Mr. Martinez was President of AT&T Florida, where he had P&L responsibility for its $2.3 billion consumer marketplace including local, long distance, and WorldNet, and he also held the position of AT&T Regional Vice President of Intra-State services. Additionally, Mario's prior experience includes being Chief Operating Officer of an early MVNO, US Communications Inc. During these terms Mr. Martinez' operating responsibilities encompassed general management, corporate development, finance, marketing, sales and business development. Mr. Martinez has also served on several private boards.
