About
Company description

Hear It Local is the booking platform for Independent music. We help fans find, fund and book local musicians for their house concerts and parties, and we connect industry professionals with musicians for their venues and events. Our booking platform makes it easy for anyone to book live, independent music.

We are in beta with our Facebook Application, GetBooked, which offers the first Direct to Fan booking platform for Independent Music. GetBooked makes it easy for fans to book the musicians they “like” on Facebook for house concerts and private events. Independent musicians will now be able to use GetBooked to inspire and facilitate the fan booking and payment process right from their Facebook page. Watch the video.

Team

Matt Lombardi, CEO and Co-Founder:

Before co-founding Hear It Local, Matt spent over six years growing Investors' Circle, a network of 200 socially-minded investors. As Director, Matt managed all aspects of the organization and served on the board of directors.

Matt also sits on the board of directors for a non profit called Party Corps, an organization that connects people to good causes through live music events.

Glenn Shope, CTO and Co-Founder:

Glenn is focused on the company's technical strategy and user experience. Glenn has been at the intersection of music and technology for over 20 years. He founded a web development firm, Net Acceleration, in the 90s to provide online tools to musicians who wanted to promote their own music. Glenn identified a need in the market at the early-stages of the DIY (Do It Yourself) Musician Movement. He helped hundreds of musicians successfully sell their music online inexpensively and without the support of labels. As a singer / songwriter and former booking manager, Glenn intimately relates to the needs of the music community.

Business model

For every booking that takes place through the Hear It Local platform, Hear It Local will take a 7.5% cut of the booking fee. The average booking fee is $300 for House Concerts and $2,000 for corporate events.

Future revenue sreams include advertising and ticketing.

Competitive advantage

Hear It Local is taking advantage of new social media tools and techniques that enhance the way users interact with each other online. The Hear It Local Platform will continue to integrate its users’ music content across all popular social media, so we are positioned to adapt with the ever-changing social media landscape.

A protectable component of our platform is Hear It Local’s scoring system. The scoring system gives consumers full transparency into a band’s popularity and ability to drive fans to shows. The scoring system is a proprietary algorithm that includes Facebook fans, Twitter fans, show reviews, performance activity, and several other factors, which ultimately gives Hear It Local booking managers a new way to virtually book shows.

The most effective way to protect our position in the marketplace at this phase is to be the first to market with our Facebook App, GetBooked. Moving forward, the data and analytics we gather will have powerful advertising influence, further positioning and strengthening our pricing and volume of revenue.
