The word "Glueper" originated from the word "Glue" for stickiness and "Per" for Person. The idea was voiced around the need for an entertaining and rewarding way to bring consumers to businesses. The concept was then shaped using the gamification techniques to drive foot and social traffic in a manner that appeals to consumers via treasure hunts while provides merchants with a liable tool for measuring, monitoring and optimizing social engagement of their consumers.
Glueper was incorporated in 2011 by Adrien Abbasi and Brian Heshmat while pursuing their MBAs at Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine. The team then connected with Todd Herschberg, a 15-year veteran of digital and social media marketing and Evan Paul, a serial entrepreneur with 7-years of experience in successfully launching and growing an on-line gaming business. Glueper is currently operated and run from the Digital Media Center Incubator in Santa Ana, California.
