Team
Mike Sego was named CEO of Gaia Online in August 2010. He was previously Chief Product Officer at the company. Prior to Gaia, Mike was the creator and sole developer of the popular (fluff)Friends application for Facebook. The application, which enables users to adopt and interact with virtual pets, attracted millions of loyal users before Sego sold the company to Social Gaming Network in August 2008.
Previously, Mike served as the technical lead and senior software engineer on Google’s Gmail Frontend engineering team where he was responsible for performance and reliability initiatives. During this time, he was recognized for outstanding work at Google with the prestigious Founder’s Award in 2007 and the Immersion Program Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
Prior to his role at Google, Mike served at Electronic Arts as a software engineer working on The Sims Online. Mike attended Stanford University where he earned a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science, with a focus on Human Computer Interaction and Graphics
Chris Davis is Senior VP of Sales at Gaia Online. He has over 20 years of sales and sales management experience, specializing in custom integrated advertising campaigns. Throughout his career, Davis has worked with many of the world's most successful brands across numerous verticals, including entertainment, gaming, retail, and consumer packaged goods.
Most recently, Davis managed global sales for Neopets, a leading virtual world targeting youth, which was acquired by Viacom/MTV Networks Digital in June 2005. During his time at Neopets, Davis worked with brands including McDonalds, Disney, Hasbro, Target and General Mills to create customized in-world advertising campaigns designed to engage Neopets' member base. Previously, Davis spent 12 years at Pfizer, Inc. in various sales and sales management positions. There he was elected to multiple Vice Presidents Management Cabinets, was named District Manager of the Year and received the 'Spartan' Award, named after him to recognize excellence in salesmanship, teamwork and communication.
