Business Idea: Disior’s business idea is to introduce sophisticated engineering tools (3D mechanical analysis and optimization) into medical area for clinical use. The company creates treatment planning software for doctors to optimize bone fracture treatments with better diagnostics and optimized surgery instructions. This enables better treatment outcome, shorter surgery times, less complications and lower re-operation rates. It also boosts the efficiency with hospital resources and levels up the quality of the treatment.

Product: The product is a standalone, case-specific software for clinical use to define optimized, patient specific treatments for fractured bones.The software has simple UI, for doctors to use every day in clinical environment, with normal laptop/PC and within reasonable time. It uses patient’s own medical images and automatically analyses fracture key parameters and calculates optimized fixing structures for possible surgery. Current applications are wrist, ankle, maxillofacial (jaw) and eye socket related fractures.

Go-to-Market: Market entry will be done with Disior first SW applications for wrist and orbital fracture. Start with the leading hospitals and clinics is essential to get good validation and clinical trials and thus build strong reputation for the product. Disior also seeks possible partnerships with medical imaging device manufacturers or fracture implant manufacturers. Pricing: The software will be sold first with ”per seat” licensing model, with fixed amount/application/user/year. Also SaaS model is an option

Competitive advantage

Competition: Doctors already work with software tools in their daily work. For example commercial pre-operative planning software exist in the market. They are targeted for data/image handling and storage, implementing 3D CAD in medical imaging and designing patient specific 3D prints. Currently there are no tools available in the market with similar analysis and optimization capability as Disior SW has. On the other hand, competing simulation software packages are of more general scope and not targeted for medical use (Abaqus, Ansys), so they are not usable in the clinical environment by doctors.
