Corebridge

Unified Communications

Corebridge is an enterprise software publisher in the unified communications (UC) sector, which is arguably at the forefront of the largest changes taking place in enterprise communications since the arrival of the Internet.

Corebridge has established business operations in the UK (HQ), France and Hong Kong and has key blue-chip clients in the financial, legal, manufacturing retail and public sectors in all regions of its operation as well as on the east coast of the United States.

The company has an established partnership with the largest vendor of enterprise software globally, which promises to ensure Corebridge licence sales running in millions upon taking Corebridge solutions to the market. Details of this partnership can be discussed under signature of an NDA. Corebridge also has other partnerships with national and regional telephony integrators, software solution vendors and mobile handset vendors.

Business model

Corebridge licenses its services to users.  After the initial revenue is raised at our solution's deployment, an annuity is charged to clients for updates and maintenance. In this way, Corebridge has access to a recurring revenue stream.

In the final weeks of Q408, Corebridge concluded negotiations with one of the world'slargest software vendors, which gave Corebridge the option of taking its products to market via its partner channels.  Within this agreement, details of which can be discussed under signature of an NDA, Corebridge will offer a very basic product at zero licence price and only levy a support fee for its clients.  This approach is allowing Corebridge to open global opportunities to upsell its full product suite through the partner channel of the enterprise vendor.  This approach is expected to increase the installed base of Corebridge by millions of users in the US, Europe and Asia.

Competitive advantage

Customers' business and communications environments are often fragmented in nature caused by organic growth, mergers and acquisitions or other business necessities. These result in complex and costly operations which do not leverage common functionalities but result in increased costs, lost revenue opportunities and the degradation of customer service.

By linking disparate voice and data applications, Corebridge enables businesses to achieve improvements in business efficiency, customer service and first call resolution, enhancing employee mobility and reducing overall costs. This results in returns on investment (ROI) of 3 to 6 months and efficiency in the region of 15 to 20%, based on actual customer data.

Corebridge solutions can "sweat the assets" of an existing infrastructure as well as deliver true business value to VoIP deployments or combinations of both legacy and VoIP systems, as the voice and data infrastructure of businesses (especially in large enterprises) are seldom homogeneous.

IP and defensibility

While patents offer competitive advantages in some markets and whilst the Corebridge Solution has patentable elements, the management of Corebridge recognises the difficulty and uncertainty inherent in the process for patenting software.  The process is lengthy, is not guaranteed to protect the product and could be ruinous for a company of Corebridge's size to enforce.

Such a process diverts resources from revenue generation and has the potential to dissipate the executive team's focus on the essential business of Corebridge, which is to deliver the Corebridge Solution to market quickly.  For a company of Corebridge's size and structure, it is better to have the advantage of being the market's first mover and building a reputation for excellence by being in use now, rather than by building costly barriers to competitors that may not even prove effective later.
