Confidant Systems was founded in 2003 with the vision of helping people suffering from chronic diseases manage their health easily while maintaining an active lifestyle. The ubiquity of cell phones provided a natural platform for our suite of applications.

Every Confidant solution supports our fundamental belief that by empowering and inspiring the individual, we can greatly increase the likelihood of treatment adherence and improve the patient's health.

Our patent-pending technology streamlines the collection of key data, using wireless technology to upload information from the individual's home medical devices to a centralized server. The data is then compared to pre-set individualized treatment regimens and thresholds. The Confidant application software interprets the data and generates individualized automated feedback delivered to the individual's cell phone in real time. An extensive electronic log created for each patient remains accessible by the caregiver, patient, or guardian through secure Web access.

The Confidant cell phone-based solution for diabetes patients stimulates positive, healthy behavioral changes through automated monitoring and feedback. With a rich feature set that enhances patient-caregiver communications, it supports self-management and delivers better disease management outcomes.

The Confidant cell phone-based weight management tool extends behavior modification beyond the residential weight loss clinic to the individual's home. In addition to automating the collection of weight from an electronic scale, the application presents an interactive set of questions, interprets the answers through a decision tree, and provides feedback to support positive behaviors.

Dew-Anne Langcaon, CPA - Manager of the LLC

Dew-Anne Langcaon has more than 20 years of financial and business experience with over a decade in healthcare finance, operations, and strategic business development. She is Chief Operating Officer of PacifiCap Group, Hawaii's largest private equity and venture capital firm. She is also a co-founder and the CEO of Ho'okele Personal Health Planners, LLC. Prior to joining PacifiCap, Dew-Anne was the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer for Hawaii Pacific Health, Hawaii's largest healthcare provider with four hospitals, 350 employed physicians, more than 1,500 affiliated medical staff, and more than 5,000 total employees. Before entering the healthcare industry, Dew-Anne spent six years as a CPA with Deloitte & Touche in Honolulu. Dew-Anne volunteers her time and leadership skills to many boards in the community including: the chair of Hawaii Science and Technology Council; vice chair of the American Red Cross Hawaii State Chapter; secretary of Aloha United Way; St. Andrew's Priory School; Enterprise Honolulu, as well as volunteering her time to various other community projects. Dew-Anne is also currently serving as the co-chair for the University of Hawaii Search Committee for the new Dean for the John A. Burns School of Medicine.

Barry Inouye - President and Chief Executive Officer

Barry Inouye has over 29 years of executive-level expertise in the Internet, software, telecom and high tech fields as well as has extensive operational and business experience throughout the world. His career has included assignments in Latin America, Asia, as well as in numerous locations throughout the United States. Besides his role as CEO of Confidant Hawaii, Mr. Inouye currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Medikeeper Inc., a leading Electronic Medical Record company. He also serves as President and CEO of Get2Hawaii and and the COO of PaCap Management Solutions LLC. He is also the Founder of GetReal Technology Solutions. Get2Hawaii is a leading developer of online travel solutions with over 1,000 agencies, airlines, hotels, wholesalers and consolidators using its software. PaCap Management specializes in management consulting services to start up and high tech companies. Get2Real Technology Solutions is an IT outsourcing company that provides software development services from China and the Philippines. Mr. Inouye has also been CEO of other software companies as well as an executive with GTE (now Verizon), Cox Communications and Centennial Communications.
