BioVantage has developed a sustainable bioremediation solution for industrial and municipal lagoon-based wastewater treatment. The solution comprises reference designs, algae consortia specific to waste stream and climate, as well as the algae inoculation system in which the algae are grown. The company's proprietary systems and patent-pending processes enable customers to accelerate natural remediation of waste by leveraging 3.8 billion years of natural R&D. By introducing high concentrations of carefully selected algae consortia into wastewater aeration lagoons, oxygen levels are increased significantly. This promotes the growth of desirable bacteria, which work together with the algae to clean water naturally.

BioVantage was named Launch Silicon Valley’s Most Likely to Succeed in cleantech in 2010, and recently received the National Sustainability Award from the Cleantech Open.
