RooftopComedy is dedicated to giving comedy fans access to the best, most cutting-edge (and, yes, funniest) professional comedy from around the globe.

We record, produce and distribute real comedy the way it's supposed to be: raw, uncensored, and not filtered through a bunch of uptight corporate suits. Moreover, we work on behalf of our comedians and comedy partners to reach a larger audience of true comedy fans, further build their followings, and make them additional money along the way.
Why "Rooftop" Comedy?

In September 2005, some friends and former colleagues sat on a rooftop overlooking the San Francisco Bay putting a hurt on a couple of tasty bloody marys. We're all die-hard comedy devotees who were sick of working for the man. We'd decided to strike out on our own and create a company that would help comedy fans discover the best comedians out there; it was about the coolest thing we could think of.

Initially we struggled with a good name for our new company. We were mixing two worlds filled with notoriously crappy business names: the Internet and the comedy industries: DigitalFerret.com; Shenanigan's Ha-Ha Hole Where Every Night is Ladies Night. The bar was set pretty low. Sitting on the roof that evening talking through all the things we wanted to do, we settled on RooftopComedy. Our first rooftop board meeting had been a good way to kick off a company, so why not?
