Company description

Project Light is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving people with literacy, English as a Second Language ("ESL") and General Equivalency Diploma ("GED") needs for nearly 30 years.  We provide educational literacy, ESL and GED software and training programs to faith-based and community-based organizations around the globe. Project Light software programs and training programs combined with a one-tutor to one-student proven methodology have resulted in life transformation for thousands of students who have been tutored in Project Light-established Learning Centers. Project Light's interactive literacy and ESL software with whole-language and phonics contains content that was designed to take a non-reader to a fifth grade reading level in one year and to address visual and perceptual deficiencies that may inhibit reading.  We also offer software for faith-based organizations that desire to teach literacy or ESL using the Bible.

Our programs serve children, teens, adults, ESL students, those with reading and learning challenges, hearing impaired, emotionally challenged, educable mentally retarded, brain injured, and children with autism and ADHD. In 1991, a Project Light established Learning Center using Project Light's literacy software programs was recognized as a "Daily Point of Light" under President Bush's "1000 Points of Light" program for its successes in addressing literacy needs of three generations of illiterate women. In 2008, Project Light's President, Sherri Crawford, was invited to speak as a panelist at the White House Faith-Based and Community Initiatives Compassion in Action Roundtable due to Project Light and its Learning Centers success in its one-to-one ESL program that has led to immigrant assimilation and success.
