Gyminee is the premier fitness social network for detailed tracking,
online accountability, and motivation. Gyminee allows users to find
workout programs, track diet and nutrition, enlist friends and family for
accountability, and participate in fitness challenges. Gyminee is a
rapidly growing web application with over 50K users,100K monthly
visitors, and 1.5M pageviews a month and is uniquely positioned to
grow into the one of the top destination for fitness tracking on the web.
We are currently raising a seed round of $500K.
Andy Smith, Co-Founder and CEO, has a background in both technology and business. He has a M.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University and this is his second technology startup. He founded ISAC, Inc. in 2003 and grew the company to $1.5M in annual revenue and 15 employees. Under his direction, ISAC secured over $3.5M in government technology grants. Andy is currently leading business development for Gyminee.
Stephen Blankenship, Co-Founder and CTO, is an expert programmer in Ruby on Rails and has 10 years
experience in web development. He leads the technical direction of the site and is very in touch with our customer base. Stephen has a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).
Derek Wiseman, Chief Marketing Officer, has over 15 years experience in sales, marketing, and the development of distribution channels specifically in the sports and fitness industry. Derek is currently leading our charge into the gym and healthcare market.
Gyminee currently generates revenue using the freemium (“free” +
“premium”) business model. Users can access many of the
Gyminee™ features for free to encourage organic growth, viral spread,
and increased traffic to the website. Power users can also subscribe
to Gyminee PRO ($15 for a 3 month subscription) to access advanced
features such as programs designed by certified personal trainers and
nutritionists, tracking of custom health goals, and access to a
specialized meal planner.
Our direct-to-consumer web application is only the first step in our
overall growth strategy. We are exploring partnerships with gyms and
health clubs, corporate wellness programs, supplement affiliate programs, and other distribution channels.
