Los Angeles, CA 9/73-9/80 Special Project Consultant Responsible for the East Coast including Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. for over 7 years. General duties included marketing and merchandising, promotion and artist development. Planning of gross marketing potential of various new artists and established acts. Assessed information from the “Arbitron” with regard to Black product inventory in various markets. Made regular contacts with radio and local clubs to ensure trade reports and promote in-store play. Coordinated artists’ personal appearances and interviews, when in area, including press coverage, photographers, transportation and security. Arranged parties and an atmosphere of magic consistent with a Motown Production. Developed contests and other promotions to increase sales.
