About
Company description

I have created an open platform online for writers, bloggers, video bloggers and citizen journalists to publish news and information and get paid for it. We support video, audio, text , and images. the site is www.babelation.com and is totally free!!

Our revenue model is based on traffic. Our business model is based on user-generated content, think Wikipedia. Wikipedia has aprox. 50,000 people supplying 95% of its content. We in beta have people contributing content in video, audio, images, and text from Las Vegas to Columbia and Spain for free.

Obviously our success depends on traffic. I am not naive to think that this is a walk in the park. I am confident that when we start to promote our services to Citizen Journalists, Student Journalists, Videobloggers, Bloggers, Artists, Poets, and anyone else that wants to publish and get paid, we will be wildly successful!

Our infrastructure is nearly complete, and we will be launching with just our friends and family money   behind us.

Team

The Company is managed by its two founders, Jim Grady and Ted Flowers

Mr. Grady and Mr. Flowers are serial entrepreneurs whom have raised over $20 million for various ventures.Mr.Grady and Mr. Flowers have founded and funded several Internet start-ups in the past 5 years, Including Worldcall Exchange (On-line marketplaces) Snap and Sold (EBay resellers) and Whirlwinde (Application Integration)

Business model

The Company’s target market is the global community news and information market, the Company believes it can create a powerful social-content media network geared for the new User –generated content market. The Company will seek to develop revenues from traditional market channels such as advertising, content brokering, and usage fees. Babelation will also seek to develop additional revenues from emerging mobile and cellular information markets.

While Babelation competes with traditional news and information delivery networks as well as social based networks (i.e., CBS Market watch, MSNBC, YouTube, etc) .The Company believes it offers a major strategic advantage over traditional news networks in that, it is the first network targeted specifically to the User-generated market and that its content will be created by Babelation users themselves rather than being produced by corporate media entities. The Company’s strategy is to create significant market value and strategic positioning by tapping into the growing social network marketing trend that is empowering people everywhere to create and interact with rich  media and information. The Company will also seek to create additional marketing advantages over traditional media delivery networks by developing easy interaction and usage in and between mobile computing devices, cellular phones and the Babelation website.

Competitive advantage

Competition

The Company faces competition from On-line News, information, search and social networking sites. The Company’s competition includes established powerful companies including Google, Microsoft and CNN. These existing companies however are not directly targeted at the same market as The Company, and all of them offer a hodgepodge of confusing services to address some of the needs of this community.

The Company believes it will have a competitive strategic advantage over all competitors because its products are being specifically developed to address the needs of the User-Generated marketplace. The Company believes it offers an opportunity similar to the position Google attained. Google came late to the search market, after established players like Yahoo had already achieved market dominance, yet Google offered consumers a more efficient search which led to Google gaining search market leadership .The Company believes by offering services specifically made for its target market that it will attain market and Brand leadership in its target market.
